It’s been said to know Skanks is to know Hip-Hop, and after
listening to ‘New Word Order’ that’s clearly an understatement. While effortlessly
flowing over diversely mastered production, Skanks embodies every element and aspect
of Hip-Hop culture, along with underlying societal
issues.
Skanks blends comedic and political skits, pivotal spoken
word, and intense wordplay to transcend listeners into a realm of hard truths,
street combat, and confused, impressionable youth. As an independent artist,
from ground zero, Skanks makes it a point and mission to utilize his ‘golden tongue’
to deliver imperative, influential messages. Messages that declare his hunger
to make it without selling his soul…Messages that teach from the street law
book, so proceed with caution…Messages that define loyalty and the importance
of moving on the low to avoid snakes and most distinctively, messages that leave
his name ringing through your core, unable to mispronounce ‘Skanks.’
The production covers a worldly canvas brimming with piano
keys, horns, electrifying guitars, and knocking bass that intertwine with some
jazz, soul, and of course gritty cadences. This eclectic and captivating
arrangement heightens Skank’s incomparable lyricism and steers ‘New Word
Order’ to unprecedented heights.
