With their Debut EP "Hill Vibes Vol.1", Republic
of Bounce is publishing an internationally packed mixtape. It impresses with a musicality that is true to style and shows faceted flows.
The base of the beats was created during a recording
session of the trio, working with the renowned keyboarder Vernon D. Hill (Slum
Village/ J Dilla/ The Roots) in Kreuzberg, Berlin. The EP was produced and
mixed by Jan Geuer (bass) and Daniel Rickler (guitar) in the Audiotism Studio
in Freiburg.
"Hill Vibes Vol. 1“ is a homage to Hip Hop from Detroit and
represents how J Dilla shaped it.
Jan „Stix“ Pfennig created unmistakable drum grooves.
Through the interaction of the band, the beats stay refreshingly dynamic. DJ
Wels of the legendary Slum Village contributed the cuts. The choice of featured
guests from around the globe and different generations are particularly
interesting. From Guilty Simpson and Phat Kat, to A-F-R-O, Maniac, Bottom Lip
and Galv - the diversity of flow is certainly taken care of.
The theme of the album shows the clear character of the band
and their sophisticated sound design. A project for real enthusiasts.
The artwork was painted by the Mexican calligraffiti
luminary Benuz.
